Identity Design in Commercial Architecture
In the world of commercial architecture, identity plays a powerful role in transforming function into experience. Through design, OPENBOX Architects reinterprets how architecture can embody brand values and connect with people on an emotional level.

Project: MK Central Kitchen, Bangkok, Thailand
At MK Central Kitchen, design and brand identity merge seamlessly to celebrate the spirit of the restaurant. The landscape design plays a pivotal role in reinforcing the project’s core concept, transforming the surroundings of the main office building into a symbolic reflection of MK’s culinary essence.
Inspired by the restaurant’s signature suki hot pot, a large oval-shaped reflective pool was designed to represent the pot itself. The dynamic tiling pattern surrounding it draws from the imagery of a boiling pot filled with vibrant ingredients, symbolizing warmth, energy, and connection.
A pixelated image matrix was developed to guide the overall composition, producing a rhythmic and colorful visual experience. Using this digital pattern, a series of hexagonal tiles were carefully arranged along the pool’s inner surface, creating a lively mosaic that evokes both artistry and precision.
The result is a commercial space that not only functions efficiently but also tells a powerful brand story through architecture and landscape design, embodying MK’s identity in every detail.

Project: REDD Premium Self Storage, Bangkok, Thailand
In response to the growing demand for urban storage solutions, REDD Premium Self Storage redefines functionality through bold architectural identity. Designed by OPENBOX Architects, the building symbolizes stacked cardboard boxes wrapped in a translucent skin—an architectural metaphor for storage itself.
Facing the Eastern Expressway, the structure acts as both landmark and billboard, visible to hundreds of thousands of commuters daily. The vivid red façade, inspired by the brand name and refined with a touch of Thainess, strengthens visual recall and brand presence.
Beyond practicality, REDD introduces commercial architecture that connects form, function, and identity—transforming a self-storage facility into an urban icon of modern living.
