Chelona

Huahin, Thailand

The site is a typical beachfront formation with a narrow frontage facing the beach and very long strip stretching over ten times the width to connect to the access road. The site was mainly covered in sand. One third of the land has been occupied by fully grown existing trees. All of them are local and have withstood sea wind for a long time and have turned into sculpture forms.

Typically for a long site with a narrow side facing the beach, only a few units have the direct sea view. The rest of the units would have to rely on variety of intense landscape creations to become the views. Even with limited palette of white to light color hardscape, water feature and natural plant colors, the variation of experience could still be created, based on differences of directions, lines, curves and height.
